Information

Jane's work centres around the development of characters, weaving together elements of eroticism, dark humour and sharp observation. As such, each painting has an individual essence, reflecting these different characters and the worlds they inhabit. Jane's figurative pieces provide strong references to the areas of fashion, costume, photography and art that influence her, combined with a blend of originality, imagination and contemporary context that add depth and intrigue to her work.

The 'floating landscapes' are more concerned with pattern and decoration. Inspired by Japanese art (traditional through to present day), these paintings explore the relationships between colour, nature, space and interior design.

Jane's work displays a strong painterly quality showing confidence and expertise in this medium. This is underpinned by observational skills, drawing and a highly fertile imagination. She has a First Class BA Honours degree in Fine Art and is currently exploring the opportunities that develop from this.
